The outer protective layer of the USB data cable is mostly rubber products. The rubber products themselves will change due to temperature differences, but the state after this change is not lasting. Generally, it will return to normal as the temperature returns to normal. For the thin layer of rubber on the USB data cable, if it is oxidized or corroded by grease... it will become permanently hardened to varying degrees and cannot be restored or broken.
So how should the USB data line be protected?
1.: Try to avoid using it in high and low-temperature environments, which can delay aging to a certain extent;
2.: Don't wind it on your hands, sweat will corrode the thread and cause the thread to become hard until it breaks;
3.: Do not touch acid and alkali liquids, especially sweat, including drinks;
4.: Don’t have a drastic temperature difference, such as when coming out of an air-conditioned room in winter...
5.: Do not wrap the USB data cable too tightly on the machine;
6.: The USB data cable can be hung on the mobile phone or computer, please remove it when not in use;

However, many data lines now use cloth-patterned braided lines. The advantage of this is that it is not easy to oxidize and harden the data lines.
